Michael Stuhlbarg in talks to join Doctor unusual

As if DOCTOR unusual wasn’t building a stellar cast already, go ahead and throw Michael Stuhlbarg onto the pile. THR was the first to break the news, but shortly afterwards, Variety reported that Stuhlbarg is going play Nicodemus West, a “rival scientist of odd”.

The 47-year-old actor is best known for playing Arnold Rothstein on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, Griffin in Men in Black 3 (2012), and more recently Andy Hertzfeld in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic.

Benedict Cumberbatch leads the way as Stephen unusual, an arrogant but talented surgeon whose hands are damaged in a awful auto accident.

West would travel to the far east to study the mystic arts under the Ancient One, but ultimately didn’t complete his training.

Nicodemus West is an adversary of odd introduced in 2006’s Doctor unusual: The Oath by Brian K. Vaughn and Marcos Martin.

Stuhlbarg is now in negotiations to join the Sorcerer Supreme’s solo movie, which begins shooting next month in London.

Doctor unusual has conjured up an October 28, 2016 release in the USA, so it’s now less than a year away. Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor will play comic book villain Baron Mordo while Academy Award victor Tilda Swinton will play unusual mentor The Ancient One.
