Michel Platini says he has done nothing wrong in UEFA farewell speech
My small and lovely Slovenia is very proud about it and I hope that one day you will also be proud at me.

“One day I am the puppet of (FIFA President Gianni) Infantino, on the next day the puppet of Platini, on the third day a Russian puppet”.
His replacement was to be elected immediately afterwards with Slovenia’s Aleksander Ceferin and Dutchman Michael van Praag as the two candidates.
Platini said: “Be assured that I have a clear conscience, that I’m convinced I did not make the slightest mistake and that I’m continuing the legal battle”.
“The way I was received was very nice and I cherish the nice talks I had with nice colleagues”.
Van Praag said: “Alex and myself have the same goal – look at our programs”.
Last month, Delaney publicly backed Ceferin to lead UEFA.
“Either I want it or not, I will have to deal with it and that will be the first thing to deal with”.
“People walk behind the music and Aleksander very cleverly arranged that a lot of countries expressed openly their support so people start to get the feeling he’s a victor”. I will do the same. He had used his speech to appeal to the smaller nations of UEFA’s 55 members.
“Too young and inexperienced?”, he said. He also provided a lot more policy detail than Ceferin, who spoke more to the room’s heart than head.
Platini was told this week that he would be allowed to speak to the UEFA congress even though he is serving a suspension over a suspect $2 million payment made by Federation Internationale de Football Association in 2011 for work carried out a decade earlier.
Disgraced former UEFA president Michel Platini insists his conscience is clear and vowed to continue fighting to clear his name following a suspension in regards to a disloyal payment from former Federation Internationale de Football Association chief Sepp Blatter.
According to English Football Association chief executive Martin Glenn whether the plan goes ahead will be “the first big decision’ facing Ceferin, who made no mention of the big four in his speech”.
“You are going to continue this wonderful mission without me”, Platini told delegates.
“I would also stress that I bear no grudges against those who have not supported me, everyone has the right to their own convictions”. “But that is not important, what is important is football”.
“This is emotional for me, too”.

The European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL), which represents the continent’s 24 domestic football leagues, called on Uefa to scrap the proposals, claiming national leagues will suffer. “At present, Italy has representatives at the highest world levels”.
