Prince Harry spoke about his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, and the Invictus Games on ITV’s Good Morning Britain and viewers couldn’t get enough of him.
Prince Harry and Michelle Obama meet children of servicemen and women during the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games Orlando 2016 at ESPN Wide World of Sports on May 8, 2016, in Orlando, Fla.
The Games are designed as a Paralympic-style sporting event for wounded veterans, according to Us Weekly.
The spectacular show was billed by the Prince as a tribute to the “remarkable” injured servicemen and women and veterans from 14 countries who will go head to head in a range of sports over the next four days.
The Invictus Games have been launched in Orlando, Florida, with Prince Harry describing them as a showcase of the “very best of the human spirit”.
The first Invictus Games were held in London in 2014. “And I think it was nearly as though you could see that look in her face, at the age of 90, thinking, ‘Why the hell does nobody ask me to do these things more often?'”
The 31-year-old royal would love to have children of his own one day but for the time being, his focus is on his Invictus Games – a sporting contest for injured service personnel which is now taking place in Florida – and he admitted he has paternal pride towards all the competitors.
“I feel incredibly proud”. You see him in the back helping everybody – the same as President Bush he’s been round to see me today.
“I served along soldiers from all over the world”, Prince Harry said. “But what I learned through serving was that the extraordinary privileges of being a prince gave me an extraordinary opportunity to help my military family”.
Harry is in Orlando for his beloved Invictus Games. He is truly our Prince Charming. “Truly fantastic”, she said. “He should be proud of himself for his work”.
Stay on topic – This helps keep the thread focused on the discussion at hand.
But the most important part of his 12-minute monologue, and the topic that was much discussed throughout all of the events, was the emphasis on the “invisible” wounds of war – mental illness.
