Michelle Obama dances to Beyonce’s Single Ladies in Carpool Karaoke
The late-night series’ recurring segment “Carpool Karaoke”, the internet’s most viral sensation not featuring someone suffocating under a Chewbacca mask, usually features pop singers, but the amiable host made an exception for the First Lady – and she didn’t disappoint. You don’t take chances.

“I’ve been in a vehicle, maybe it was months ago, with my daughter when she learned to drive, and she rocked out, we rocked out together”.
The sing-along session – a recurring bit on the late-night talk show that’s featured stars like Justin Bieber, Adele and Elton John – included banter about the Obama family’s secret service code names, Snapchat and life after the White House.
As well as some Stevie Wonder and Queen Bey, the first lady and Corden sang along to “This Is For My Girls”, the anthem Obama released in the spring for her Let Girls Learn initiative. She then outdid Beyonce’s hand-twists singing along to “Single Ladies”.
Corden asked her what she will miss most when she is no longer the First Lady and she replied that she will miss the people. The trio then follows up her appearance with a rendition of “Get Ur Freak On”, one of Missy’s mega hits. “To walk away from people you see every single day, that’s going to be hard”. Corden remarked that if it were him he’d miss the ability to call for a grilled cheese sandwich and a milkshake at 3 a.m.
“The freedom that we’ll get in exchange for the privilege and the luxuries, you know, seven and a half years is a enough luxuriating”, she said, adding that she’s also looking forward to cooking for herself. Not only she sang the lyrics like a swagger but breaked into few dance steps with much style!

The next number caused Obama to yell, “This is my song!” but she meant it literally. “[I was worried] I’d start mixing “Work It” with “The Rain” with ‘Get Ur Freak On.’ But I wasn’t nervous about being in the auto because they made me feel like they knew me”.
