Michelle Obama Does Carpool Karaoke with James Corden
Who should climb into the passenger seat?

“Don’t steal anything!” says the first lady, to which Corden protests, “I’m not gonna steal it, I’m going to forget it was in my pocket”.
It’s the little things, like riding shotgun with the music turned up, that Obama said she most looks forward to in life after the White House.
She gives him the tour. “That was the only time in seven and a half years that I’ve been in the passenger’s seat listening to music, rocking out like this”. Michelle started off the karaoke jam with Stevie Wonder’s, ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours’ as her first choice.
Corden: “What are you gonna miss?”
In light of the recent Melania Trump plagiarism row, it’s perhaps no coincidence that the rap Obama chose included the lyrics: “Ain’t no stoppin’ me/Copywritten so, don’t copy me”.
Next it’s time for Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, of which Obama knows all the words and dance moves.
“The way she is, you feel like you can just ride down the highway with the windows rolled down and be chilling with one of your friends”, Missy told the magazine.
Mrs. Obama: “We were making honey to put in our lemonade!“. Corden wants a code name, too.
But lest you think she’s a partisan in the breakup of Destiny’s Child, the two also got some Kelly Rowland in. Obama said in the video that Wonder is her favorite artist. “My message to kids here is, don’t take your education for granted”. They also sang “This Is For My Girls”. And then… Missy Elliot pops up in the back. The lack of changing scenery, though, didn’t put a damper on the ride, as both the host and First Lady rocked out the auto, starting with Stevie Wonder classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” as Mrs. Obama relished being able to control the radio for pretty much the first time in seven-and-a-half years.

When they sang “This Is For My Girls”, a song written by Diane Warren in support of FLOTUS’s Let Girls Learn initiative, Missy Elliot magically appeared in the backseat and joined them (at 9:50).
