Michigan adds pick-six to total annihilation of Northwestern

After slowly climbing its way back up the AP top 25, Michigan hosts Northwestern in what will be one of the biggest Big Ten Conference games of the year.

Northwestern hasn’t won all of their games very smoothly, but they have gotten the job done against a few very solid football teams.

Both of these teams have been outstanding defensively and that shouldn’t change today.

Northwestern has give up 7 points per game so far while Michigan is number two right behind them at 7.6. Both Jim Harbaugh and Pat Fitzgerald have their teams play well, and one of them will surely move up the polls after today’s game.

Meanwhile, after a season-opening loss to Utah, Michigan has been on fire.

Northwestern improved to 5-0 on the season after shutting out the Minnesota Golden Gophers 27-0 last week.

The Wolverines defense has been tremendous lately, pitching back-to-back shutouts and allowing just 14 points over the past four weeks.

All indications suggest today’s Michigan Northwestern game will be extremely low scoring. The Wolverines (4-1, 1-0) are holding opponents to an FBS-best 19.4 percent on third downs with the Wildcats second at 20.0.
