A MI man who escaped police during a high-speed chase earlier this month got caught after bragging about it on Facebook.

That was enough for police to put out an arrest warrant and the motorcyclist turned himself in to authorities Tuesday, three weeks after the incident.
Michael Thomas Brown, 33, was allegedly caught on camera early in the morning of July 2, about 2:15 a.m., leaving Sagebrush restaurant in Lake Orion and getting on a motorcycle.
Officer Brian Martinez flashed lights and pulled the motorcycle over, then exited his patrol auto to talk to the man, but “almost without hesitation” Brown allegedly fled south on South Broadway, heading to M-24, running a stop sign en route.
Martinez activated his emergency lights, pulled next to the man and exited his marked patrol auto.
Officers know the speed, because the suspect posted about it on his Facebook page a few days later, bragging about losing the cops in a 45-second chase, going 140 in a 35. “Officer Martinez radioed dispatch that he was no longer in sight of the vehicle and ended the pursuit”.
“The since-deleted post included the hashtags “#everyonelovedit” and “#nojailthisweekend”.
A motorcyclist who fled from police in the middle of the night, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour, was taken into custody after bragging about the escapade on Facebook.
Brown was released on a $5,000 personal bond, which wouldn’t need to be paid unless he failed to appear at a court date.
Brown is charged with fleeing police and reckless driving. Magistrate Marie Soma set bond at $5,000 and ordered Brown to appear in court again on August 2 for a probable cause hearing before 52-3 District Judge Julie Nicholson.
“Someone sent (the post) to us out of concern”, Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh told MLive.

“It is insanely risky to drive at those speeds”, Narsh said.
