Michigan Gov. Snyder: Hillary’s Flint Accusations Inaccurate
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said Friday he invited Snyder and EPA chief Gina McCarthy to testify on the Flint crisis. Homes with pregnant women and children will get higher priority. “We’ve had money for water-immediate water needs, emergency response stuff, some money for infrastructure”, said Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha. Flint has been in a state of emergency for over a month after researchers linked the city’s poisoned drinking-water supply to health problems like elevated lead levels in children’s blood and an uptick in Legionnaire’s disease.

Clinton also made a stop at UA Local 370 in Mt. Morris Township and spoke with business manager Harold Harrington, who was featured on Rachel Maddow town hall on the Flint water crisis on MSNBC last month, about efforts taking place to install filters and other items for city residents to try and alleviate concerns.
Thomson ReutersThe top of the Flint Water Plant tower is seen in Flint, Michigan (Reuters) – Michigan Governor Rick Snyder asked state lawmakers on Wednesday to provide more than $300 million in his current and fiscal 2017 budget proposals to deal with the lead-tainted water crisis in Flint, and to keep the Detroit Public Schools (DPS) from running out of cash as early as April. “This is something we do need to address, both short term and intermediate term and long term”.
All this week, Beloit Memorial High School is collecting cases of bottled water as part of the District’s “Flood Flint with Fresh Water!” drive.
“I gave a lot of people my word”, he said, adding: “They were in my wedding, they’re the godparents of my children”.
Environmental engineer Marc Edwards tells The Associated Press the comment by former Flint public works director Howard Croft was a “contrived explanation after the fact that makes no sense”. Republican Gov. Rick Snyder, a laissez-fairyland corporate ideologue, supported the switch of Flint’s water source from Lake Huron to the cheaper stuff in the contaminated Flint River, claiming that this could cut some $2 million from the city’s budget.
Flo Rida made a decision to get involved with this public health crisis when he saw that Flint residents were still being denied access to clean water for drinking, bathing, and cooking.
Democrats still say Snyder’s plan is short of what is needed to fully reimburse the water portion of people’s water/sewer bills, and city officials want more to replace old pipes.
“Essentially, it’s $37 million for water infrastructure, $15 million for food and nutrition”. Snyder is also banking on more funding from Washington.
Roxanne Adair, a vendor at the local farmers’ market, says this goes deeper than just the water.
Still, for Flint, the $195 million Snyder proposes to spend is a welcome infusion of cash to a city in the midst of a man-made public health crisis.
An email written by a former Flint official says anti-corrosive treatments weren’t added to the Flint River water because of concerns about bacteria.
