Michigan woman’s response to comments that she’s a whale goes viral
That woman – Dianne Hoffmeyer – was with her 22-month-old, attempting to get donut holes to please the teething child.

Dianne Hoffmeyer heard the women making rude comments about her hair and weight as she queued up with her two-year-old daughter.
Hoffmeyer recently lost 177 pounds, and had been feeling proud of herself.
“One positive action in a negative moment has caused a tsunami of friendship for me with moms that are going through the same thing”, Hoffmeyer said. Just so you know they were not for me. But what she did next is what is surprising – she told the cashier she’ll pay for their coffee. Two years ago, Hoffmeyer weighed almost 300 lbs and chose to go on a weight-loss journey after doctors diagnosed her with congestive heart failure during her pregnancy.
Hoffmeyer recounted the incident on Facebook, where it quickly garnered 166,000 likes and thousands of messages of support.
“To the 2 mean bitter ladies that were standing in line at Tim Horton’s in Fort Gratiot behind me”. Instead, she took the opportunity to show them what being the better person was all about. “Here are these people who don’t know who I am, that don’t know what I’ve had to go through”. “And explain to them how it made me feel”. You both should be ashamed of yourselves. “Because this “Fat Retarded Lard [expletive]” paid it forward and I bought your coffee’s this morning”.
Hoffmeyer was left “speechless” by the kindness and encouragement she received, and is thankful that something good has resulted from her experience.

“Just when you think there’s no one nice in the world, they’re all on my Facebook page,” Hoffmeyer told the paper. And because of her we all have a better idea of what to do in that kind of situation too.
