Micromax Canvas 5 launched, priced at Rs 11999: Specifications, features

“Micromax has always been a frontrunner when it comes to breaking barriers with our innovative product offerings and the success of our Canvas series is a testimony to this”. Even though the device is priced lower at Rs. 11,999 compared to the Rs. 17,999 price tag of its predecessor. According to Micromax, the smartphone will receive an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in near future.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device also features a 13MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash along with a front-facing 5MP camera. For storing content, the smartphone has 16GB storage along with microSD card support for expansion up to 128GB. In terms of connectivity, the device includes 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth options and supports Indian 4G LTE. Micromax has launched Canvas 5 with pretty good specifications at the best price as a Diwali offer. There’s also a double data scheme with Airtel for 4G. The phone also features gesture recognition technology and hence the features such as “Smart Wake” accompany with the device.

Micromax has joined hands with Bajaj for a 12 months zero interest EMI scheme with 4 months of advance. Starting with the phone’s big screen aka the 5.2 inch FHD display that features 1920*1080 pixels resolution and 423 PPI pixel density.

On the software front, the device’s camera offers the Picture in Picture feature, allowing you to capture shots with the rear and front camera at the same time.

The new Canvas 5 includes 4G LTE capabilities and features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display. The Canvas 5 is backed by a non-removable 2900mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talk-time, and up to 275 hours of standby time.
