Microsoft has slashed the price of the Core i5 variants of the Surface Pro 4 by $100, just as speculations start swirling that the Redmond giant has started working on the Surface Pro 5.

In case you do not know, the Surface Pro 3 is also available on the discount price in the U.S. market. In terms of specs and offering, the Apple iPad Pro is not a direct Microsoft Surface Pro 4 rival but the fact is that those that opt to go for the Apple iPad Pro will not buy the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The price of this model is now $899, down from $999. It is available in three processor options: Intel Skylake Core m3, i5 and i7; buyers can choose between 4GB and 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB of storage.

A prominent mention is that the high-end model with Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage is still priced at $2699.
