Microsoft debuts its first flagship store in Australia
As well as the clean “Signature Editions” laptops, the Microsoft Store features an Answer Desk, which I guess you could call a Genius idea.

“We won’t be turning anybody away”, said Microsoft’s head of global retail stores, Travis Walter, adding any issue short of a hardware fix or replacement would be completed free of charge, including anti-virus and malicious software removal, which is likely to upset PC shops that charge upwards of $100 for such a service.
Grand opening celebrations for the first Microsoft Store in Australia take place today as its Surface Book, Pro 4 and Microsoft Band hit its minted store shelves. Forty of them will be dedicated to selling Microsoft products, while the remaining ten will support customers at Microsoft’s answer desk. The store will serve as the centrepiece to the Microsoft store experience in Australia and will offer retail and experimental spaces that allow consumers to get hands on new and exciting products.
The store shows how diversified Microsoft remains, despite new CEO Satya Nadella’s recent rationalisation. It doesn’t matter if the device has Windows 10 or an older version, or if it is made by Microsoft or another manufacturer.
The grant recipients are: The Smith Family, Mission Australia, Service to Youth Council, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, YMCA, YWCA, United Way, Reach, Girls & Boys Brigade, Ways Youth Services and AEISEC. The concert will be held at 7 PM at the iconic State Theatre, on Market Street, Sydney.
Yesterday the company launched a flagship store in Sydney Australia.
Impressively, the company will not limit itself to products sold in store, promising help to customers with any Microsoft hardware, software or services.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony outside of the main entrance, a curtain will drop – unveiling the inside of the Microsoft Flagship Store for the first time – before it officially opens to the Australian public at noon.
The 500-square-metre, two-storey store also features interactive displays – like massive Surface Hub wall-mounted tablets – and big screens for playing Minecraft or streaming from the in-store devices.
There are more than 178 digital panels throughout the store with 38 different video feeds.

Speaking of which, the Microsoft Store is, obviously, stocking Microsoft products as far as the eye can see.
