Concrete details around HoloLens are hard to come by; a definite sale date and price have yet to be announced, though developers kits will start shipping within the next two months priced at $3,000.
Don’t get us wrong, the HoloLens still runs independently of any other devices. The VR glasses will be able to give you 5.5 hours of usage under general use and the usage may drop to 2.5 hours under heavy stress.
Harris also confirmed that the HoloLens can connect to anything with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity, includes 3D audio and will only offer English support for the first version. That’s just enough time to watch James Cameron’s “Avatar” on the high end, or type out a short story in low-power mode. He also revealed that multiple units can be linked together over the internet, allowing several users to simultaneously share an experience together.
Talk then turned to the field of view, which is actually quite narrow on the Hololens in its current form, much narrower than we were initially led to believe during on-stage presentations throughout a year ago.

While the device’s field of view is comparable to that of a 15-inch monitor, Harris said the company is looking to expand the size once it’s economically feasible. While app makers can experiment with various tools, Microsoft has been hesitant in providing details like retail availability, pricing, and battery life.
