There are rumors indicating that Microsoft is preparing to launch its new Lumia flagships at the end of September.

The last flagship iteration from Microsoft was the Lumia 930 that came out previous year.

As 4G LTE network starts to gain traction in India, Microsoft is looking to make the most out of it. The company announces today that it is pushing out a firmware update to select existing Windows Phone handsets in the country to enable 4G connectivity option in them. PhoneArena.com, citing Chinese site Weibo, states that the upcoming flagship devices might be called the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL.

According to the online reports, the Microsoft Lumia 940 is expected to have a 5.2 inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution that works out to a 424 ppi pixel density. It will run on the Snapdragon 808, have 3G of RAM, 32GB of nternal memory expandable via SD card and an iris scanner. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and backed by 1GB of RAM it is fast and powerful with a great 3000mAh battery. It will also support expandable storage. The built-in camera has two 20 megapixel sensors (thanks to the next generation PureView) and 5 megapixels with a LED flash function.

Reports have shown that the Microsoft Lumia 940 XL have bigger screen size of 5.7 inch with a 1440 x 2560 resolution that works out to a 565 ppi pixel density which have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The device is rumored to feature the same front and rear shooter as the 940.

Probably, consumers would think that this pair would be cheaper than the rival high-end smartphones like the Apple iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6.

The news came from known industry leaker Evan Blass, with Twitter handle @evleaks, who claimed that Microsoft has not just one but six smartphones in development and that these new phones are expected to carry the name of the Windows 10 for mobile operating system.
