Microsoft hooked to 4G phones
The device features 4G LTE connectivity in addition, with support for Indian 4G LTE bands.

It has a 5.7 inch HD IPS LCD display with 1280*720 pixel resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Speaking at the launch, TS Sridhar, director, Microsoft Mobile Devices, said, “India is poised to be one of the leading 4G markets in the world owing to the exponential growth of smartphones and the growing access to Internet”. For graphics it has the Adreno 305 GPU. The gismo runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and supports 1GB of RAM. Backed by a 3000mAh removable battery, the handset sports a 20-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilisation), an f/1.9 aperture, and a triple-LED RGB flash module. The 550 features Bluetooth 4.1 while the 640 has Bluetooth 4.0, and the latter also has DLNA.
Windows 10, the universal operating system, will finally have a few Microsoft-branded mobile devices to run on. The smartphone was firstunveiled at MWC 2015, but was not launched in India alongside the Lumia 640 Dual SIM and Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM in April. Specific pricing for the United Kingdom, India and other regions hasn’t been announced yet.

As the Microsoft Lumia 550 is not in our hands yet we are simply considering specs and price for this comparison, and it will be interesting to check it out more in the coming months. The device will come with a 1GHz processor and 5-megapixel camera, starting at 8GB of storage for $139 this December. There is 32GB of inbuilt storage and is expandable up to 200GB via microSD card. According to MobileFun, which is now accepting pre-orders, the Lumia 550 will cost £129.
