The Chinese group Lenovo will install a series of United States software giant Microsoft services on “millions” of its devices running Android, the mobile operating system from Google, under an agreement announced Monday.
Microsoft and Lenovo agreed today in news coming out of Beijing to offer Microsoft productivity apps, including Office, OneDrive, and Skype, on select Lenovo devices running the Android operating system.
The patent agreement is another example of the important role intellectual property (IP) plays in ensuring a healthy and vibrant technology ecosystem.
Microsoft has entered into more than 1,200 licensing agreements since December 2003.
Lenovo (HKSE:992) (LNVGY) is a US$45 billion global Fortune 500 company and a leader in providing innovative consumer, commercial, and enterprise technology.
