Microsoft integrates Facebook, Evernote, Wunderlist with iOS, Android calendar apps
When Microsoft announced its intent to shut down Sunrise, the very popular calendar app it bought in 2015, the company also promised that it wouldn’t kill Sunrise before its best features came to Outlook for Android and iPhone.

A new “Calendar Apps” capability will allow users to connect apps, starting with Wunderlist, Facebook and Evernote, to their Outlook Calendars. This includes things like events on Facebook the user is attending, and their various lists on apps like Evernote and Wunderlist. Then, look for the heading “Calendar App”, and tap on the “+Add” button to the right. With Facebook connected, your Facebook events will appear on your calendar, but are also shortcuts to the events in the Facebook app.
Once your Facebook account is synced, you will be able to view the events you are invited to and have accepted. Just tap to-do and you’ll have all the details you need. And you can make this more granular by only turning on specific to-do lists and assigning colors to them for the Outlook calendar view.
Once this reminder is on the calendar, you can tap on it to bring up further information and read all your notes by opening Evernote.
These new integrations will work with your Outlook.com, Office 365, Gmail, iCloud and other types of accounts, which is really nice.
Microsoft is calling this feature “Calendar Apps”, with the promise that more outside services will be getting the Outlook integration treatment sooner rather than later. The feature will enable users to see all of their tasks, notes and events inside their Outlook calendar.

Folks who previously used the Sunrise app will be aware of this functionality, and now that the Sunrise team has joined Outlook, it has been working hard to bring the same functionality to Outlook.
