Microsoft lets slip Edge browser extensions
The page has since been pulled and now displays an Error 403 message.

Microsoft has promised that extensions are coming to Edge and while they were initially supposed to show up this fall, the company missed the deadline.
Twitter user WalkingCat discovered Microsoft’s mistake, revealing a developer site announcing extensions support for Edge. While obviously a placeholder due to its lack of mention of a particular Windows 10 build, it does suggest that it won’t be long before Edge can support the function-enhancing extensions.
But according to this new “accidental” website unveiling, the debut of Microsoft Edge browser extensions is very close and the Redmond-based software giant could now be giving the final touches to a first version allowing us to try them out.
Extensions for Edge is likely one of the top, if not the top, requested feature for the browser. You will have to download the files and place them into the correct folder inside of Edge to add the features but it is expected in the final release, this will be an automated process. Reddit and Pinterest extensions appear to be the only test extensions ready for the initial preview.
There are buttons for downloading extensions, and for the API documentation. User honestbleeps explained in July that Microsoft used its own version of Reddit Enhancement Suite for an on-stage demonstration of Edge, highlighting the ease at which Chrome extensions can be ported over to Edge.

It’s a good time for Microsoft to play catch-up in the field of extensibility, since fading rival Firefox is now suffering a storm of controversy about moving its add-ons architecture over to the standards for Google Chrome extensions.
