“As we’ve sharpened our mobile strategy with a new focus in phones, the Lumia 650 is another step towards bringing Windows 10 to more than a billion devices”.
When it comes to camera configuration, an 8-megapixel main sensor and a generous 5-megapixel front-facing snapper have been mounted on the handset.
“Lumia 650 also features a highly polished, diamond cut and anodized aluminum frame, giving it an unparalleled and premium feel”. Microsoft boasts that the Lumia 650 is 6.9mm thick and weighs 122 grams.

The QHD resolution display has been replaced by a 5in 720 HD offering, and Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line processor has been switched out in favour of a cheaper quad-core Snapdragon 212 chip. The rollout for the new smartphone is set to start in Europe on February 18 with no word on when the device might launch in the US. Although the Lumia 650 is a low-range phone, Microsoft said that it’s built for businesses. There’s 1GB of RAM to run Windows 10 but the device doesn’t feature Continuum. With a pixel density of 297ppi, Lumia 650 equips 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 200GB via microSD card).
Despite its mid-range branding, Microsoft is targeting a particularly demanding portion of the market with the Lumia 650.
