In terms of software, the Surface phone is expected to run on the latest Windows 10 build codenamed as Redstone 2, which is rumored to provide the Microsoft users with an exceptional user interface.

The leaker, Nokibar, also added that the device will come with three spec option.

Microsoft is allegedly phasing out its Lumia brand later this year and will be focusing on its Surface Phone exclusively.

One of the main reasons that is believed to be the cause of the long gap between its unveiling and its release is the delay in the release of Intel’s latest Kaby Lake-based processors.

The all-in-one Surface PC is the consumer version of the Surface Hub, which Microsoft showcased earlier.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has been one of the best Microsoft devices so far. The device was evidently targeting a “modern and elegant” design and was supposed to be something akin to a premium appliance or furniture. Fans can expect this new Microsoft Surface Phone to be released in March of 2017.

Microsoft previously created the Surface Hub, which is a TV-sized tablet for the professional world.

Other Surface devices, like the expected Surface Book 2 and Surface Pro 5, will most likely be unveiled in spring 2017. It will aim to compete with the current and upcoming laptop and PC devices.

Microsoft is said to be working on an all-new all-in-one (AIO) Surface PC, expected to be launched in October. Microsoft on its part has kept the project well under the wraps.
