Microsoft reminds Windows 10 free upgrade to end on July 29
Nearly a year after the launch of Windows 10, the latest Microsoft operating system has been installed on some 300 million active devices around the globe, the company said today.

On 29 July, a free upgrade offer for Windows users with earlier versions of the operating system will come to an end. If you haven’t upgraded to Windows 10 yet, mark this date- July 29th 2016, is the last date to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
The key feature to Microsoft’s strategy is the success of the Windows Store.
From the very beginning, Microsoft was completely transparent about its intentions for Windows 10 to bring all PC users to be together under one OS.
The achievement comes just as Windows 10 nears its launch anniversary, and after recent news that the operating system held a 14.35 percent market share among all computers by the end of April.
Microsoft has said that its new Windows iteration is powering more than 300 million machines across the world.
Meanwhile, those who already have Windows 10 in their devices but still experiencing some difficulty getting used to the interface, ZDNet listed down some of the loopholes that can be fixed for good. Cortana, for instance, has handled 6 billion questions since past year and Microsoft’s new Web browser, Microsoft Edge, is enjoying a surge in usage time (63 billion minutes in March). If that happens, then the Get Windows 10 app will like remain on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 desktops until Microsoft begins charging for Windows 10 upgrades.
Customers generated over 9 billion hours of gameplay on Windows 10 since launch.
What Thursday’s announcement from the company indicates is that free upgrades would no longer be available. After that you should be free from more annoyances, though you will have to pay nearly €200 for a copy of Windows 10 if you change your mind in the future. Now they’ve offered some clarity, announcing that Windows 10 will cease to be free from July 29.

This gives them the chance to easily access the Windows apps and spread them to their workforce on all devices that are running the Windows 10 software.
