Though they have switched from Xbox Video to the simple “Movies and TV” which is self-explanatory, and has been justified by their wish to make apps more identifiable for every customer.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has recently announced a major modification to its entertainment apps and services in short now the Xbox music will be called as Groove and Xbox videos will change to only Movies and TV.

What’s old is new again: Xbox Music, the music service that that launched four years ago under Microsoft’s ill-fated Zune moniker, is getting another lease on life.

The Groove technology eventually became known as SharePoint Workspace in 2010 and facilitated document collaboration across remote team members. Today, it’s been mostly superseded by OneDrive for Business. The company says it’s simply Groove and is working to correct its mistake. While the service will remain mostly similar to Xbox, there will be updates made to it over the course of the next few months.

My opinion? I like it. Xbox Music was the wrong name, and since Microsoft already owns the Groove name-which it acquired along with Ray Ozzie several years back-there’s nothing weird to worry about. And for that, we’re proud to introduce the evolution of our current Xbox Music experience, now titled Groove, with new features we think you’re going to love. Now, a new blog post from senior marketing communications manager Brandon LeBlanc has revealed that Music will in fact be called Groove. Seems like they have all of the bases covered.

So, is Microsoft selling off Xbox Music, buying Groove, or just doing a bad job at rebranding their service? These are features that would have vastly improved Microsoft’s music offering.
