Regardless of your thoughts on the rapid creep of Windows 10 assimilation, it does mark the beginning of the mass adoption of DirectX12, as more than 71% of users now have GPUs supporting it. As we exit the initial preview phase, we are moving the Universal app to replace the 8.1 version under the Remote Desktop name for devices running both Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile.

The new company is also talking about increasing internet speeds, but I again have no idea when that will hit this area.

“I had ignored all pop-up reminders about the update in past months, but it suddenly started updating automatically, Ning Jiayu, professor at Nankai University in Tianjin, posted on Weibo early yesterday”. The company is also said to be working on an Authenticator app that will allow those smartphones to unlock Windows 10 PCs.

Remaking Microsoft, known primarily for its software, into a more device-focused company was a hallmark of previous chief executive Steve Ballmer.
