Microsoft’s Windows 10 Launches
“Starting today, people who reserved their upgrade to Windows 10 will be notified in waves when their upgrade is ready to be installed”, the company said at the high-profile launch event.

Those new benefits include a new web browser that lets you draw on and clip sections of web pages, and a voice activated personal digital assistant called Cortana.
Will it cost to upgrade?
Microsoft will start rolling out its new operating system Windows 10 around the world, including India, with a host of new features as the longtime leader in PC software tries to lure back consumers who gave up on Windows for mobile devices. These members have been testing the preview versions of Windows 10 and providing feedback to Microsoft based on their experience.
Unlike with previous versions, there will not be a separate Windows Phone 10 operating system.
The company has said there won’t be a successor – just incremental updates once in a while. Windows 10 will pull your Windows 7 or 8 activation key out from your hard drive, and you’ll be fine. And Nadella is hoping to see that popularity increase with the launch of its new and improved operating system. Office 2016 for desktops, meanwhile, will be released for Windows 7, 8 and 10 in the fall.
Hit apps could ramp up popularity of Windows-driven hardware made by Microsoft and its partners, and increase opportunities for the company to make money from online activities such as search, shopping and software as services in the internet cloud.
Windows 10 brings back a new start menu – a favorite feature that Windows 8 didn’t have. Onscreen features, like menus and taskbars, will adapt to their platform for easy navigation, and apps will scale smoothly so they look good on both phones and multi-monitor desktop displays. Your OS might reboot a few times so don’t worry. For Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users, Windows 10 is available as a free upgrade.
You will have a year from Wednesday’s launch date to decide if Windows 10 is worth your while; after that, Microsoft says the free upgrade window will close. And maybe most importantly, remember that the free upgrade offer only lasts a year; if you wait until July 30 of 2016, you’re going to have to pay up. Buy a new PC.

Folks had to register for the download (in the bottom right corner of Windows system tray) and await a reply with a link, a process that is expected to take from hours to days to weeks, depending upon who is asked. So should you upgrade to Windows 10 now? It’s hardly a ringing endorsement, but then Windows has always been tolerated rather than loved.
