“Our business seems to be operating pretty consistent as it has over the last couple of years”.
That figure represents a 30% yearly growth in its online user base across both Xbox consoles and PC. Earlier in January 2016, Sony said the PS4 had sold an incredible 35.9m units to customers around the world. It was reported that the combined sales of the PS4 console and Xbox One reach 55million at the end of 2015 and with all the new games we will be seeing this year, we are expecting the numbers to go up even higher by the end of this year. Germany is one country where PS4 has enjoyed market dominance. Rather it has chose to divulge the number of active accounts on Windows 10 or Xbox Live.
More surprising are the results in terms of gaming software, where titles like Halo 5: Guardians and Minecraft have allowed the company to grow by 57% over the same period past year.
While Microsoft has long stopped reporting on the absolute number of Xboxes sold, Sony continues to push out its own figures.
Say what you will about the Xbox One – but I quite like the machine.
Still, Microsoft may be willing to take a hit in order to get Xbox One into as many homes around the globe as possible, as doing so would boost the amount of money it makes through Xbox Live.
