The desktop PC version of Windows 10 has been out since yesterday, but the mobile variation of Microsoft’s latest OS is still in the making.
Windows RT was the product of Steve Ballmer’s era, and under the guidance of Satya Nadella, Microsoft is aiming towards a lineup that simply makes more sense, so the future will be fully focused on Windows 10 on PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Specifically, that the update experience appears to have been designed to throw away the choice of your customers have made about the Internet experience they want, and replace it with the Internet experience Microsoft wants them to have.
Wednesday was such a big day for Microsoft with its release of Windows 10, and with a reported 14 million installs in such a short time, it shows how much users were looking forward to getting the update. The software update to Windows 10 will be free for one year. However, despite the initial surge in installations, Microsoft says it will take several weeks to ensure that the roll out has been completed across the globe, a fact not too many users are happy with.
Nevertheless, if you’re a Windows Phone user eager to get the Windows 10 update, keep your calendar booked for sometime in November.
“It has been an incredible 24 hours for Windows and our fans”.
Microsoft’s new Edge browser is winning praise from those happy to free themselves from Internet Explorer. Instead, Microsoft has transitioned to a Windows-as-a-Service (WaaS) model in which it will continually dole out security updates and feature upgrades to Windows 10. They’ll need to see angry tweets, Reddit posts, and comments from Windows 10 users before they make any changes to the way Windows 10 handles things during the upgrade process.

Microsoft has now given a reply to The Verge for the letter, which states: “We designed Windows 10 to provide a simple upgrade experience for users and a cohesive experience following the upgrade”.
