“Well, that took less long than expected, it seems Microsoft quickly announced its Surface Go, a 10” Surface Tablet after the leak yesterday, a 4G version will be added later this year.

However, Microsoft’s iconic backlit keyboard cover will be sold separately, and you need to shell another $99 for it. Surface Go also supports Surface Stylus Pen, which is another $99.

So there’s a 10in IPS screen (1200×1800) and an Intel Pentium 4415Y processor, a 1.6GHz “Gold” chip which sits at the bottom of the firm’s 7th-gen Kaby Lake family.

In stores, the laptop will come with Windows 10 Home in S Mode, which limits users to programs in the Microsoft Store.

It’s the price tag that will make it more appealing for many people, shaving several hundred dollars off the price of the latest version of the Surface Pro, which starts at $799.

To the Surface Go.

The Microsoft Surface Go can be used as a lightweight tablet, too. However, it will also come in a model with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD.

If you’re looking for speed, the Surface Go isn’t for you. While I have not fully tested the battery on the Surface Go, I would put real-world usage at around 6 hrs based on my experience with other Surface devices.

Hardware aside, the best part her is that Microsoft is not shipping Surface Go with a limited version of Windows, as it did with Surface RT, for example.

As you can see, even the most basic of accessories for the device will set you back by $99 if you chose to go for either the Surface Pen or the Standard Type Cover. Comparatively, that difference in price amounts to half as much starting storage and memory, and neither a USB-C port nor microSD slot.

Microsoft unveiled the new Surface Go tablet Monday, which is aimed at the education market as well as workers on the go.

At first glance, the 1.15-pound Surface Go appears simply to be the Surface Pro shrunken down by 2.3 inches on the diagonal, and that’s largely true – excellent kickstand and all.

So. should you buy this new Surface? This suggests that we’re in for a new Surface announcement tomorrow.
