The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 also came out just in time to be the platform for Windows 10, which has brought back a number of features of the classic Windows interface after the confusing one that people saw on Windows 8.

But in answering the big question on the lips of New Zealanders, how does the Surface Pro 4 stack up against the iPad Pro in terms of pricing?
Microsoft’s stance has not changed when it comes to the availability of the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 in SA, though. That’s because the GPU hardware is in the base, while the tablet is of course the screen.
While the Surface Book is created to be used as both a laptop and tablet, the Nvidia graphics only work in laptop mode.

The Surface Pro 4 also offers an improved Type Cover and Surface Pen.
The Pro 4 recently started shipping in the US and Canada.
Surface 3 now comes with Windows 10, but you get the older, cardboard-like keyboard. Just look at the locked screen, and your desktop appears. As such, the messiness is a tad more accurate. More room on the cover is devoted to the keys and the touchpad rather than dead space. More impressive is the trackpad. Even though the Surface Pen Stylus is an intuitive tool for advanced operations, it seems that the iPad Pro’s Apple Pencil has beaten it on the first try. Microsoft are pushing the benefits of the Pen to creatives who live in apps like Adobe Photoshop all day, as a new way of touching up and drawing on photos and graphics.
The hinge, otherwise its dynamic fulcrum, is one innovative aspect of this laptop.
Every Surface design closely resembles the one that came before it, and that is true when you compare the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Pro 3.
The stylus might be useful for note-taking, though I prefer just typing notes and reminders.
And that continues to be the Surface’s achilles heel.
The latest in the hugely successful series of tablets runs a Windows 10 Pro operating system and can transform into a laptop with a detachable keyboard. Microsoft’s built-in Modern UI apps like Mail, Calendar and OneNote are fantastic, but don’t expect the rich app ecosystem of iOS, or, to a lesser extent, Android.
But the only laptops the Surface Book will be replacing are other vendors’ flagship models.
Surface Pro has its legions of fans, but to me, It’s still an odd little machine. That is something which gives the laptop considerable flexibility. But as long as you have a sturdy surface to balance Surface on, it’s a great, lightweight, premium quality portable computer.

Apple’s entry-level iPads are much cheaper, but Microsoft is going after customers of the MacBook Air (which starts at $899) and the iPad Pro (which starts at $799, plus $169 for a physical keyboard and $99 for the Apple Pencil).
