Microsoft to release Office 2016 on 22 September suggests leaked screenshot

Now a report suggests that the Office 2016 is nearly ready and that Microsoft has internally informed its employees about the public launch.

Earlier this year Microsoft released the “Windows 10” and offered free updates to Windows 8.1 users.

Office 2016 has been in preview mode for some Windows 10 users and has rolled out in full for the OS X crowd.

On a page called the Office 2016 Launch Hub, the marketing materials read “On September 22, 2015, we’ll release Office 2016 – with updates for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Skype for Business, Project, Visio, Access and Publisher”.

The company is expected to release Office Mobile apps for Windows 10 Mobile smartphones sometime later this year.

The novel colorful choice comes with a dark theme for folk who don’t fancy the traditional appearance of Microsoft’s Office apps.

In a leaked memo obtained by WinFuture.de (via Neowin), Microsoft lays out its plans for the next version of Office. Microsoft is enhancing Outlook 2016 attachments, search, and storage footprint as well as email delivery performance.

The most significant adjustment in Word is the facility for real-time co-authoring inside Office 016’s desktop version.

Microsoft has not declared the pricing model of Office 2016 till now. Office 2016 boasts of collaborative functionality targeting business users such as Skype for Business and Real-Time Typing. It’s likely that the software will be priced similarly to Office 2013. Microsoft is preparing staff for the event, asking them to install the preview version for now and keep an eye on the Office 2016 Launch Hub for training documentation and other materials. The release is expected in the month of September.
