Now that Windows 10 is already receving its first major update, Microsoft has started speaking about the future updates. What we do know for sure is Windows 10 users can look forward to a slew of new features in 2017.
This week’s Anniversary Update – codenamed Redstone 1 – marks the second big update to Windows since its introduction.

Microsoft’s ambition is to get you thinking of the Windows interface like you do Gmail or Facebook, where upgrades to the platform “just happen”.
Tap “sync notifications” on that screen, and you can choose what Android alerts will pop up on your PC after granting this version of Microsoft’s personal assistant access to various types of data on your phone. Microsoft has erased All Apps list from the Start Menu and added three new buttons like Recently Added, Most Used, and the All Apps in the only list.
Microsoft’s one-year period to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or 8.1, free of charge, ended on July 29.

Earlier this week, Microsoft launched a new video series on YouTube called This Week on Windows, that highlights the new features on the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. The Anniversary Update is deemed as the second big update for the operating system since its inception previous year. Failure to roll back within that timeframe means facing the more labor-intensive wipe-and-replace approach in order to restore the OS. Downloading Windows 10, for example, requires about 3GB of space. Other suggestions come via an Into Windows blog post, as well as an AskVG.com blog post, but they are unofficial, non-Microsoft recommendations, of course.
