Microsoft unveils new Xbox console at E3

MICROSOFT has officially unveiled its new Xbox One S – a slim, robot white console which supports 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray movies and Netflix content.

The Xbox One S will be out sometime in August for $299.

At the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing Microsoft introduced a new lineup of Xbox devices, Xbox Live features, and Xbox games. Not to mention all first party Xbox One games going forward will also be available for Windows 10 PCs.

The new Xbox One S is 40 per cent smaller than the Xbox One, and can output up to 4K video, while the Xbox One can only output up to 1080p. It may be commonplace in a few years to see new consoles roll off the assembly line each year, much like smartphones do today. If you were lucky enough to not get the red ring of death, then that’s a possibly eight years of joy out of the one purchase. Accessories will also work across the Xbox One product line. That makes Scorpio four times more powerful than the Xbox One.

Microsoft is promising Scorpio will deliver “true 4K visuals without sacrificing quality” and “VR without sacrificing performance”.

Described as the “world’s most powerful console”, the Scorpio was made official in a “one more thing” closer for Microsoft’s E3 showcase.

Every other year since 2007, Apple has released an entirely new iPhone.

As an unexpected extra you can also order your own customised controller, changing the colours and having your own name, or more likely gamertag, laser-engraved upon it.

In a unique move for the games industry, the game will be offered as a dual version to players to play on both the Xbox and on Windows 10 PCs. Dead Rising 4 has been announced as well as Forza Horizon 3 which will be set in Australia.
