Xiaomi is reportedly working with Microsoft in developing a new tablet that runs on Windows 10 instead of its own MIUI, the custom Android skin that traditionally runs on Xiaomi’s devices.

The Universal Windows Platform (UWP) introduced with Windows 10 enables developers to build a single app that should run across all versions of Windows 10, as reported by Microsoft.
Specifically, the rumored device might be slated for an August 16 release, the customary date Xiaomi has picked for the official unveiling of its new devices.
There are no details about the internal specifications of the device. The software giant went back to its drawing board and came up with its latest Windows 10 that’s been getting a lot of love from early adopters. Among the numerous new features of the operating system is Continuum, which a few users and fans have taken to calling the “tablet mode” for Windows 10. If the rumours stand to be true, the Windows 10 tablet may be the next Michigan Pad. Microsoft has previously said that the standard Windows 10 is ideal for devices that measure 8 inches and above.
Seeing as how the company’s presence is growing in the region of China, not to mention that Xiaomi has also been able to sell more than 31 million units for H1, 2015, it would only be fitting for Microsoft and Xiaomi to create one of the biggest partnerships in the tech industry.
Joe Belfiore, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s operating systems group, has tweeted a picture of a Xiaomi Michigan 4 running on the said Windows 10 ROM prior to the insider program’s launch in the coming weeks.
