Western Michigan University has its first bowl win in school history after the Broncos beat Middle Tennessee State 45-31 Thursday in the Bahamas Bowl. Western played a tough schedule this season, including games against both Michigan State and Ohio State, which were losses but games where the Broncos competed. Middle Tennessee has the 17th ranked passing attack in the country, so they should be able to find success against Western Michigan’s defense. James, who also excelled at track and field at Riverview, played quarterback his senior season for the Rams and wide receiver as a junior. A victory also would give Western Michigan consecutive eight-win seasons for the first time.
