Middlesbrough have announced the signing of Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo on a season-long loan.
“The club is set [to] strengthen even further in readiness for the new Premier League [season] after agreeing a deal to sign Alvaro Negredo from Valencia CF”, a Middlesbrough statement confirmed.
And with Boro flying to Spain on Monday for a week-long spell at the Marbella Football Center, it is being claimed Negredo will join up with Aitor Karanka’s squad to undergo a medical and rubber-stamp the move early this week.
Former Almeria, Real Madrid and Sevilla striker Negredo has scored a total of 112 La Liga goals in 264 appearances.
Boro have been busy over the summer as they plan for the Premier League with five new bodies already added to their squad.

Negredo had a tough time in Valencia after sealing a £26million transfer to Mestalla and was completely frozen out by former head coach Nuno Espírito Santo.
