Middlesrough sign Cardiff fullback Fabio da Silva

Fabio – formerly of Manchester United – has signed a two-year deal at the Riverside, with Aitor Karanka’s men confirming the deal on Friday.

And former Manchester United defender Fabio will drastically improve the defensive options the Spaniard has at his disposal as Boro look to stay in the league.

Fabio was in the previous year of his contract with Cardiff and has joined Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee, becoming their eighth summer signing.

The 26-year-old Brazil worldwide signed a two-year deal after the clubs agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of £2million.

“I’m very proud and honoured to sign for Middlesbrough”, Fabio said. “I’m looking forward to this new chapter of my career”.

“I’m so happy to be back to the Premier League. I will never forget it!”

Fabio, 26, becomes Boro’s 10th signing of the summer following Victor Valdes, Gaston Ramirez, Alvaro Negredo, Brad Guzan and Viktor Fischer among others into the club.
