“Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year”, the couple said in a statement to the Press Association.
Richard Kay of the Daily Mail broke the news in his column on Tuesday, reporting that Matthews, a self-made hedge fund multimillionaire, proposed during a trip to England’s Lake District.
Pippa announced her engagement to Spencer Matthews’ brother in a joint statement.
