Mighty. No. 9 Delayed on Xbox 360
“Our team has already re-submitted the build to Deep Silver (and to Microsoft), and we expect it to go gold within a few days if all goes according to plan”, it added.

After being successfully Kickstarted almost three years ago, and delayed a few times since then, Mighty No. 9 is finally coming out, but is it as mighty as we were hoping?

With the odds stacked against it though, Mighty No. 9 manages to be a well-meaning ode to Kenji Inafune’s beloved creation, Mega Man, but seems to struggle to establish its own identity. Those will probably be a fitting topic for postmortems for months to come, but, at least for now, backers will be able to enjoy the game for real. Regardless of how much you like the Mega Man series, in Mighty No.9 you’re unlikely to find a game that comes close to that legacy. But this isn’t all, depleting an enemy’s energy will put them in a state where they are weaker and surrounded by a coloured aura of “Xel”. Because I’ll tell you what, I’m not getting my 2D side-scrolling fill. Tomorrow, the game that was delayed multiple times will finally be released to the drooling Mega Man loving community. At the end of the day, even if it’s not flawless, it’s better than nothing. “At least, that’s my opinion”. Numerous critics stated that the special abilities you obtain from defeating bosses weren’t very useful in the game, and using the standard blaster was much more effective. Producer Keiji Inafune has previously said that he is “sincerely sorry. for how long we have kept all of our fans waiting”. Some may be turned off by the shortness of the standard game, others may be turned off by the toughness of some of the bosses, but there are plenty of nostalgic and challenge-seeking players that will get a kick out of Mighty No. 9. As you work through the game, the core blasting and dashing is solid, the levels get more experimental and there’s a goofy B-movie charm that will keep you attempting to reach the end.
