Mike Ditka Tells Kaepernick To ‘Get The Hell Out’

From the start, Kaepernick has eloquently defended his protest, explaining that by kneeling during the national anthem he is not disrespecting the flag or the military but is trying to bring attention to the very real problem of extrajudicial killings of young black men and women. “You all inspired me with what you did, following that and standing up”. “But don’t stonewall it because you don’t agree with how they’re doing it. …” I guess he didn’t want to get grass stains on his hoodie. Why not make your statement, National Football League players, and stand in front of them if they don’t wish to honor our flag? Kaepernick has a right to his opinion, no matter how outrageous you think it might be. Look out for one another.

“I understand what the Rams’ take on this was”.

Why? Your “protest” is having the opposite effect that you intended because those of us of every color, creed, religion and background who have loved ones in graves marked by that attractive flag are willing to work with you or anyone else to fix the wrongs that still exist – IF you stand with us for the flag that gives you the right to protest. Lift each other up.

“I’ve had a lot of thoughts about it, and it’s hard, because you want to talk to the media, you want to say something about it”, Long said. I love y’all. Y’all my brothers.

‘You are important, ‘ he told them in the locker room.

As I watched the Emmy Awards on TV on Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised to see the increased racial diversity this year, but was reminded of several people of color that paved the way for such diversity – performers such as Diahann Carroll, Greg Morris, Nichelle Nichols.

‘And that’s something that you have to be able to speak into each other as well’.

That goes for Ditka, even if you’re troubled by his view. “You look at what’s gone on in Tulsa and Charlotte in the last two nights; it’s an issue that’s at the forefront of our country in that it needs to be addressed, it needs to be taken care of because what’s going on is not right”.
