Mike Huckabee: Ted Cruz supporters embarrassed by him

Trump has embarked on one of the more remarkable us presidential campaigns in modern history, capturing the nomination of one of the two major parties while denouncing what he calls a “rigged political system”.

Mr Trump addressed thousands of the party faithful on the last day of the Republican National Convention in Ohio. His explicitly transphobic campaign ran our country’s first anti-trans ad for president of the United States.

In a key moment earlier in the night, Silicon Valley mogul Peter Thiel told the convention he was proud to be gay.

But in this case, I suspect the reason was simpler and more personal.

“And, you know, he’ll come and endorse over the next little while, he’ll come and endorse, because he has no choice”.

“Beginning on 20 January, 2017, safety will be restored”.

The rhetoric of the convention brought U.S. Sen.

Trump’s speech was interrupted at one point by a protester from Code Pink, a women’s activist group aimed at putting an end to US wars, and he waited to continue speaking until police removed her from the arena. “But if he did, it’s fine”, Trump said. “Corey Lewandowski was great, I have to tell you”, he said.

He repeatedly criticized his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, including her tenure as Secretary of State. He said her policies have made America less safe.

The real estate businessman promised to create jobs for all Americans by cutting taxes and reducing regulations on businesses.

She watched the speech in the box reserved for Trump’s family, accompanied by her son, Barron, the youngest of Donald Trump’s children. It would have been damaging to yank Cruz off the convention program’s agenda, and it was impossible to convince him to say something he wasn’t disposed to say. “I am going to turn our bad trade agreements into great trade agreements”.

The Republican nominee also addressed recent terrorist attacks in the United States and overseas.

But like so many other impediments he’s encountered this campaign, Trump brushed it off. As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology.

He also spoke about the recent Nice, France truck attack that killed 84 people, and identified ways to battle terrorism. Tuesday was supposed to be about how we “Make America Work Again”, as if we might learn something about tax policy or economic revitalization.

“We must immediately suspend immigration from any nation that has been compromised by terrorism until such time as proven vetting mechanisms have been put in place”.

“We are going to defeat the barbarians of ISIS and we’re going to defeat them fast”.

She said her father raised her and her siblings with “positive values and a strong ethical compass”.

Trump also responded to statements Cruz made after the convention, accusing the nominee of attacking his wife and father. She touted his experience as a business leader who is “color blind and gender neutral” and said he will fight for equal pay for women. “He hires the best person for the job, period”.

“Lock Her Up!” chants from the villagers in the audience coming with pitchforks for Hillary Clinton. Hai Do was the editor. “We don’t want them in our country!”

When the convention was gavelled in on Monday, it didn’t take long for tensions over Donald Trump’s nomination to bubble over.
