Mike McCarthy: Eddie Lacy ‘didn’t have a great week’ before Lions game
“But the confidence he has in his arm and the ability to throw with that arc … the arc of the ball is critical to the success of the play”.

If you have Calvin in the seconary standing at the 1-yard line there’s no way anyone on Green Bay catches that pass. Parenthetically, if Caldwell really said he didn’t think Rodgers would throw a “Hail Mary” he should be fired for being nearly criminally incompetent.
A lot went wrong for the Lions.
Aaron Rodgers scrambled long enough to give his receivers time to sprint to the end zone and got to the outside. The limited pass rush allowed that. Everything had to break their way, and everything was for a couple weeks, which is the only reason we were even talking playoffs at all. “I came in this morning, watched during breakfast and I just saw an incredible throw, Hail Mary by Aaron Rodgers”.
“I felt good that it was going to be in the end zone”, shared Rodgers via CBS Sports.
Perhaps most crucially, the Lions were concerned that Green Bay might not throw a Hail Mary at all. To this day, Seahawks fans and Packers fans dispute whether Golden Tate caught the ball to give Seattle the 14-12 win or if M.D. Jennings had possession for the Packers.
It comes down to a poor decision by Taylor, and poor coaching for whoever on the Lions taught him to tackle.
Aaron Rodgers finished the contest 24-of-36 for 273 yards with two touchdown passes and one interception, while Richard Rodgers had career highs of eight receptions and 146 yards receiving with the one touchdown catch.
On the other hand, Rodgers, Sr., was arguably more involved than his son on his famous play; he was the special-teams captain for Cal in 1982 who called the lateral play and he touched the ball multiple times (the second and fourth lateral) on that play. Once they reach the ten yard line, the inside receiver begins heading toward the group of players while the outside receiver continues his slight angle closer toward the center of the end zone.
The Rodgers family has a flare for the dramatic – and no, we’re not talking about Aaron Rodgers. Bynes followed Adams to the end zone, leaving Richard Rodgers alone. Keeps us right in the mix for play-offs, half a game back in the division. But those are losing plays and Waddle continues to make them.
But it wasn’t, because Taylor’s hand brushed Rodgers’ facemask. Safety Glover Quin came up from behind to try to make a play on the ball, and linebacker Tahir Whitehead jumped in from the side.
Then there was a face mask penalty against the Lions giving Green Bay an untimed down.

The former Alabama standout didn’t enter the game until late in the first quarter, played only 19 snaps and ended up with 4 yards on five carries and a reception that lost 3 yards on the stat sheet. The NFL said after the Ravens-Jaguars game that the Jaguars players were not set and the play should have been whistled dead, causing the game to end.
