Mike Pence defends military mom’s right to criticize Donald Trump
Byrne, who according to NBC News is a Democrat, told MSNBC that she knew it would be fearless to mention the Khan family at that gathering, but that it was her opportunity “to ask the candidates candid questions that are important to me”, she said.

“Will there ever be a point in time when you’re able to look Trump in the eye and tell him ‘Enough is enough?’ You have a son in the military”.
Most of Pence’s time on stage was spent touting Trump’s proposed policies and bashing those of President Barack Obama and Democratic nominee for president Hillary Clinton.
As the controversy over Donald Trump’s critical comments about the family of fallen US solider Captain Humayun Khan crescendoed over the weekend, there was one voice from inside the campaign that tried to tamp it down: Mike Pence.
“Donald Trump and I believe that Captain Humayun Khan is an American hero and his family, like all Gold Star families, should be cherished by every American”, the IN governor said IN a statement.”Captain Khan gave his life to defend our country IN the global war on terror”.
This isn’t totally untypical of the American response to veterans and their families.
Pence told his Phoenix audience that Trump “will bring no-nonsense leadership to the White House” and “restore law and order to our cities and streets” by strengthening and supporting law enforcement nationwide.
Speaking Tuesday to CBS This Morning, Eric Trump said his father is “a great patriot”, who “doesn’t want to see more Americans dead”.
Barbara Weisenthal, 56, said she was among those booing and that Khizr Khan did not have the “right” to say what he did about Trump at the convention.
Trump also made waves earlier this election cycle, saying that “he preferred war heroes who don’t get captured” when discussing McCain, who was a prisoner of war during his time in the military.
“She was politicizing the veterans”, she said.
On Monday, McCain issued a strongly-worded statement condemning Trump’s criticism of a Muslim family who spoke against him during the Democratic National Convention.
Trump also said that his stance against Muslims in America is not directed at people like the Khans but radicals.
“I haven’t endorsed John McCain”, Trump told the Post on Tuesday, adding that he has “never been” on board with the Arizona senator, going as far as to suggest McCain “should have done a much better job for the vets”.
Pence honored the memory of Capt. Humayan Khan.
It is hardly the first time Trump and McCain have butted heads during the campaign cycle.

Donald Trump fans need a MAJOR refresher on respect. Both camps confirmed to NBC News that the pair would still meet despite Trump’s most recent attack. “Looking back, I think I would’ve taken the high road”.
