In choosing Pence, Trump appeared to be looking past their numerous policy differences.
He also softened his vocal opposition to Trump’s call to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States. Pence also endorsed Sen.
Trump praised his 57-year-old running mate’s fiscally conservative policies and lauded his own success in Indiana’s Republican primary, which defied predictions from the party establishment.
