Miles on Fournette debate: “I can’t imagine Leonard sitting inactive”

The No. 9 LSU Tigers will continue their quest to vault themselves into playoff contention, but that will have wait at least two weeks as they will be facing an inferior competitor in Eastern Michigan. I just can’t possibly imagine it. “Offensively, they really have moved the football against everybody they’ve played”. Eastern Michigan is among the MAC’s leaders in yards per game with 440.5 and points per game with 33.8…. The Tigers have averaged 315 yards rushing per game.

LSU and Ole Miss will face each other on November 21, but LSU will be looking to get through opponents like Eastern Michigan, South Carolina and Florida first. The plays the defense has made, though, are usually after a lot of yards have been gained.

The biggest key for LSU will be to work on improving the areas in which they have shown weaknesses. “You’ve got to be sharp, and so it starts with us”.

LSU’s game against Syracuse last weekend drew the best television ratings on ESPN.

“The score could’ve been way worse than it was without the penalties”. “That’s what we’re working toward”. The scouting reports all suggest he already has proven to have the physical talents and maturity to join an National Football League team and make an immediate impact. For those reasons, a few have speculated that Fournette should sit out next season to preserve his health and NFL Draft stock. The Eagles last had a winning season in 1995 and went 2-10 in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Fournette, who has rushed for 631 yards and eight touchdowns in only three games this season so far, has said he won’t be leaving LSU in the near future, recently writing on Twitter, “I will never jump ship….”

Eastern Michigan is led by senior running back Darius Jackson and freshman wide receiver Eddie Daugherty, who will need to deliver impressive performances if the Eagles are going to keep this contest respectable.

“I can tell you this, the key piece to a game, at home, or away, for that matter, is the opportunity for victory, the opportunity to win it”, Miles said. But those might not be such good ideas. “It’s about our goal and our path and what we have to and want to accomplish as a team”.

“Everyone takes winning for granted except the guys in this room”, he said of his players.
