Milos Raonic sends warning message to Andy Murray ahead of Wimbledon final
Murray, with the gold trophy in his hands, briefly chatted with the heir to the British throne inside the Centre Court stadium.

Federer lost in the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in his career, falling to Raonic 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in 3 hours and 24 minutes on Centre Court at the All England Club. “I guess my goal is to keep him away from that, play it on my terms, be aggressive, not hesitate”, said the Canadian. In his previous Grand Slam semifinal match, Raonic lost to Murray at this year’s Australian Open.
Their semifinals are on Friday at the All England Club.
“Andy has already had the biggest success possible with Lendl by winning the 2013 Wimbledon title”.
Andy Murray stormed into his third Wimbledon final as the Scot crushed Berdych 6-3 6-3 6-3 to set up a title showdown with Milos Raonic. But Murray’s all-around game is the reason why he’s the No. 2 ranked player in the world behind Djokovic.
The world number two was not dealing with any nerves, and looked to be in top form – as he is able to use his quickness to get to this volley and steers it past his opponent for a victor as he takes this frame by a 6-3 count.
With an entire country behind him, Raonic used his powerful serve and positive attitude to come from two-sets-to-one down and topple the game’s most decorated player to reach Sunday’s final where he will face Britain’s Andy Murray.
He’s the youngest Wimbledon finalist since Murray reached the title match in 2012 at the same age.
Tomorrow’s meeting will be a repeat of the final of the Aegon Championships at Queen’s Club three weeks ago, which Murray won after three hard-fought sets.
Roger Federer of Switzerland plays a return to Marin Cilic of Croatia during their men’s singles match on day ten of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
With Raonic serving for the match at 5-3, Federer did not get a return in play until 40-0.
Perhaps it was the pressure of reaching the final, or the realization that he had beaten possibly the best of all time, that Raonic could only muster a gentle smile after winning the last set.
Off to the third, and Roanic would try and serve and volley, only the third seed is too good on this point, getting another passing shot – as he grabs the frame 6-4, and leads 2-sets-to-1.
Another grand slam tournament, another final but for Andy Murray there is nothing routine about playing for the sport’s greatest prizes. But I don’t think it will be a factor that this will be Milos’ first Grand Slam final; I’m sure of that.
The loss means he remains one title short of the all-time Wimbledon men’s record – he’s still tied with Pete Sampras and 1880s player William Renshaw with seven.
“He expected Roger to win, no disrespect to Milos, so the mindset and preparation will be a bit different”. Also the one we played in Melbourne. After that match, Raonic said he didn’t mind if McEnroe worked his TV job while he was on court playing.
The pair split in March 2014, but it was with Lendl by his side that Murray won his two Grand Slam titles – the US Open in 2012 and Wimbledon in 2013 – and Murray said the 56-year-old, a victor of eight Slams between 1984 and 1990, offers important experience of major events.
He is also taking heart from his performances against Murray in NY and Melbourne, where he won the opening set both times.

Although the Swiss maestro staged a strong comeback from the first set defeat, he failed to capitalise on it and went on to lose the decider against sixth-seed Roanic.
