MILWAUKEE (AP) Every victory raised the stakes for the Golden State Warriors

This is not to take anything away from the magnitude of Milwaukee’s victory, but it was apparent that the Warriors were gassed, not just from the night before, but from giving their all night in and night out in a league where it’s more prudent in the long run to preserve energy.

“There was a lot of excitement around this game and coach [Jason] Kidd said one of the reasons why we pulled off the upset was the environment and our home crowd”, Bucks vice president of marketing Dustin Godsey said.

While Golden State’s streak reached 28 regular-season games, dating back to last season, it fell five games short of the record set by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1971-72.

Attention on the Warriors and their likable cast of characters, led by MVP sharpshooter Stephen Curry, grew as the victories piled up.

It also helped that the Warriors, perhaps fighting fatigue after needing two overtimes to win at Boston on Friday, were cold from thre-point range. They were outplayed by the Bucks. We looked like we ran out of gas. There’s a story out of Reno about a bettor playing Golden State on the money line over and over at the end of the streak at $3,000 a pop.

“It has been kind of a playoff feel just with the streak and all the media and attention around”, Green said. We didn’t play our best for probably about three straight games.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, who is on the mend from surgery on his left knee in June, won’t make his season debut on Tuesday when the Cavs face the Celtics, coach David Blatt said. He said, “Number one, there’s nothing I can do about it. There’s no point to moaning and complaining and trying to change something that really can’t be changed”. I’m not sure how many times I blinked over those six minutes.

What Bosh meant was the St. Louis Maroons, a baseball team that started 20-0 in 1884 for what was the best start to a season in the four major U.S.pro sports until now. For many global fans, it’s a season-long issue.

Golden State can return to practice to work on the little things without the specter of the streak hanging over the team.

Greg Monroe scored 28 points for the Bucks, who got the all-around effort needed to beat the defending National Basketball Association champions.

“We showed some spurts to get back into the game”. Yet it’s not like the loss hurt Golden State’s standing atop the rest of the Western Conference.

“We missed shots. They didn’t shut us down, man”, guard Klay Thompson said after the loss. Now, thanks to the YouTube channel FreeDawkins, we can watch them all in one place here.
