Protesters are gathering outside a north Minneapolis police precinct near the site where officers shot a black man.
Earlier in the day, people lingered on the street where the shooting had occurred, taping posters and balloons to a lamppost. Authorities said he had threatened retreating officers with a military-style knife before being fatally shot. “Police don’t care”, James Hill said.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was continuing its own investigation and will hand over the results to prosecutors.
Harteau would not confirm that the officers who shot Clark were not wearing body cameras and that Clark was unarmed, saying only that that information was “part of the investigation”. At a few point, an officer fired at least once, hitting the man, police said.
“He took his gun and he shot this man in cold blood”, she said. She wasn’t clear about where the cars were.
People at the scene said the incident started as a series of assaults at the birthday party, including one involving Clark and his girlfriend. N. Members of Black Lives Matter Minneapolis, Minneapolis NAACP and Community United Against Police Brutality were among those demonstrating. They believe a BCA investigation may be impartial and are sticking to the story that Clark was handcuffed when he was shot.
Bob Kroll says he can’t identify the officers or talk about details of the shooting.
“We’re gonna find out what happened and we’re gonna get to what happened, and we’re gonna stay here until we find out what happened and why”, said community activist John Martin.
Kroll says he’s confident that the investigation will vindicate the officers.
– Jamar Clark’s dad announced Monday that he is taking a stand for his son as controversy and questions swirl around the police shooting that has left the 24-year-old near death.
“When officers arrived there was a confrontation and struggle”, she said.

N. Sunday, November 15, 2015, in Minneapolis, after a man was shot by Minneapolis police early Sunday morning, Black Lives Matters and others protested Sunday night.
According to officers, he was interfering with paramedics who were assisting the assault victim.
Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau and Mayor Betsy Hodges held a listening session Sunday to address concerns about the shooting. Stressing that she supported the decision and that it should not be seen as an admission of any wrongdoing, Minneapolis police chief Janeé Harteau said: “Everyone involved needs and deserves the truth and the facts”.
“The young man was just laying there; he was not resisting arrest”. A grand jury declined to indict the policemen involved.
The police say he is in critical condition. This spring, Minneapolis was chosen for a national Justice Department system to rebuild trust between authorities and also the communities.

“We’re still not moving until we get that footage”, said Michael McDowell, a member of Black Lives Matter. Police said their preliminary investigation shows the man was not handcuffed, but the investigation is ongoing.
