Investigators say the 11- year-old boy stole a cement mixer from McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing in Dodge Center on Sunday afternoon.

The juvenile drove the truck-stolen from a contractor in Dodge Center-to Highway 14 toward Byron, according to KAAL-TV.
“I betcha he drove around town 6 or 7 times”.
KAAL reported that a police helicopter spotted the truck, and cops caught up with the juvenile driver at a dead end street after chasing him for over an hour. “He was smiling, hooting and hollering…he was having a good time”, witness Troy Flatness told KTTC.
The boy eventually navigated his way onto the streets of Dodge Center, which residents say is his home town.
Flatness and other witnesses said the boy is an 11-year-old Dodge Center resident, but the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing his name or age. Peterson took a quick left into her driveway to get out of the way. An officer initially attempted to pull the truck over for speeding and “lane violations”, according to police radio.
He remains in custody in a juvenile detention center.

The boy sideswiped several vehicles and squad cars belonging to the Minnesota State Patrol and local police while trying to avoid arrest. “It was like a parade and I had no idea what was going on”.
