UF Health Children’s Hospital saw at least three babies born on Leap Day.
“As long as she was healthy and everything went according to plan, that’s all I cared about”, said Kristi Wilson, who had her daughter Marida this morning.
“I just think it’s really cool”.
Marida’s parents said they’ll probably celebrate her birthday on February 28 between leap years.
Now that he is here, the big question, what do you do without an official birthday most years? When it comes to the actual day they’re born on, it’s usually of no outcome, but for babies born on February 29th, they get a truly unique experience.
“Trevor, I had him the day after his due date, and I thought it would be awesome if that happened with Ian”, she said.
“It’ll probably be interesting trying to explain to him how he only has a birthday every four years”.
“We’re happy nonetheless, Leap Year or no Leap Year”, Kelley said.
Even though having a Leap Day baby never crossed their minds throughout Kelley’s pregnancy, they say they are not surprised.
