MINNEAPOLIS – Vikings cornerback Jabari Price was suspended for two games Friday for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that the club has signed free agent CB Josh Thomas.

Price, 22, pleaded guilty in April to careless driving following his December arrest for DWI. “I can assure you that it will never happen again”. Although he can still participate in offseason workouts and preseason games, his first regular season appearance won’t come until Week 3 against the San Diego Chargers. He was a fifth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2011 NFL Draft, and has spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, and Detroit Lions as well. “The medication is not a substance which would enhance my on-field performance in any way and I genuinely was unaware that it was prohibited, but players are responsible for what is in their bodies”. Starting the final four games of that season, Thomas recorded 24 tackles and 7 defended passes.

The Vikings have six other cornerbacks on the roster, including first-round pick Trae Waynes.
