Minnesota Vikings edge Green Bay Packers behind big game from Sam Bradford

Peterson averaged 0.33 yards per carry before contact against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, according to ESPN Stats and Information.

But while they still had a chance to at least tie the game with 1:56 left, the final score isn’t indicative of how thoroughly Green Bay was outplayed … and outcoached.

Regardless of how long Peterson is out, defensive end and fellow team captain Brian Robison said the Vikings must be prepared to move on.

Bradford, acquired from the Eagles this month, was the better quarterback. At this point it is unclear if Peterson will be ready to play on Sunday.

So without further ado, here is this week’s stock report.

After being tackled on a five-yard run, Peterson was unable to put any weight on his knee.

The news is bad, but it is not terrible-unless you are Adrian Peterson, who we now have learned has torn meniscus in his right knee. They have yet to open up lanes for the running backs through two weeks, leaving fans to continue to wonder just how good this offense can truly be if they are ever able to establish a balanced offense.

Maybe the Vikings defense makes them so hard to beat they sneak into the playoffs anyway, but without Peterson, that’s pretty much all they can hope for. He seemed to be locked on Jordy Nelson early.

After Peterson suffered a right knee injury, he was helped off the field by medical staff and had to hobble his way through a series of restaurants before reaching his destination.

SECONDARY STRUGGLES: With starter Sam Shields still recovering from a concussion and rookie Josh Hawkins also out, Green Bay suited up three cornerbacks, though safety Micah Hyde was also used in coverage. “This is a tough opponent, a division opponent and they are a good football team that still needs to come play at our house later in the season”.

His career resume is a few performances like Sunday night’s surrounded by just passable performances.

“I don’t think we’re that far off”, he added, saying about the would-be overreaction, “I don’t think this is anything to get super insane about”. “We could barely hear the snap count today a couple times – a couple false starts, because guys wouldn’t know when the snap was going”. Unfortunately for Rodgers, he went after the second-year corner one too many times and paid dearly for it at the end of the game.

Though Rodgers and others feel there’s no need to hit the panic button, head coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged Monday that improvement must start in earnest as the Packers try to avoid the same 1-2 start encountered by the 2014 team.
